bad news
Aunt Nettie kicked the bucket.
she was cantankerous, and like all of my elder relatives, hilarious. in that farts and ‘living on top of each other’ kind of way. deeply religious, working-class, spinster.
she was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met.
so I’m going home, I think. I’m supposed to work through Friday. so I guess that’s a, a what, a bereavement day? may have to drive. that’d suck. may have to fly. so I’d have to leave the truck at long term parking, unless I can find someone to drive two hours to Richmond to get me.

I’m sorry dude. That’s bad news.
Why don’t you park your truck at my parents’ place and take the metro to the airport? They live near Braddock Road now, right next to National Airport metro stop (there’s also a shuttle to Dulles Airport from West Falls Church metro stop). Long term parking is expensive. I’m leaving this Friday for a family reunion; if I wasn’t I’d come get you.
everyone has something that they can always think of to make them laugh. one of mine is the story you told me about when your mother had to crawl on her back under the stall at a wal-mart to get to your aunt who was stuck on the toilet.
fuck me that is funny.
and you know what’ll happen if oyu come home this weekend? that’s ri-ight! it’s the kouts PORKFEST baby. let me know if you are coming home then i will surely come home to be with you during your time of loss.
Sorry to hear that man,
hope you are well.
